Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of ExpiryProbe ("Service", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. The service

ExpiryProbe is a monitoring service that checks SSL certificate and domain registration expiry dates for domains you provide. We perform read-only checks using publicly available information (TLS handshakes and WHOIS lookups).

2. Your account

• You must provide a valid email address and keep your account credentials secure.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
• One account per person. You may not share accounts or resell access.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Add domains to your monitoring list that you do not own or have permission to monitor.
• Use the Service to conduct any form of attack, enumeration, or reconnaissance against infrastructure you do not own.
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits, access controls, or abuse the API.
• Resell or redistribute access to the Service without prior written permission.
• Use automated scripts to create large volumes of accounts.

4. Plans and billing

• Free plan: available indefinitely for up to 5 domains. No credit card required.
• Pro plan: a paid subscription billed monthly. Prices are displayed at sign-up and may change with 30 days notice.
• Trial: new accounts receive a 14-day Pro trial at no charge. No payment method is required to start the trial.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. You may cancel your subscription at any time; access continues until the end of the billing period.
• Refunds are offered at our discretion within 7 days of a charge if the Service has not functioned as described.

5. Service availability

We aim to keep ExpiryProbe running reliably, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Scheduled maintenance, infrastructure issues, or third-party dependencies may cause temporary outages. ExpiryProbe is a monitoring aid and should not be your only safeguard against certificate expiry.

6. Data and privacy

Our use of your personal data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

7. Intellectual property

All content, branding, and code within the Service is owned by ExpiryProbe. You retain ownership of your domain list data. You grant us the right to process that data solely to provide the Service.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that check results are always accurate, complete, or up to date. WHOIS data in particular may be delayed or incomplete due to registrar policies.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ExpiryProbe shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to revenue loss due to an expired certificate or domain that was not flagged in time.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. Upon termination, your data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of New Zealand.
